Norwalk Mansion Wedding

What a beautiful July Saturday for a wedding! Despite temperatures in the high nineties our bride and groom could not have been more excited that their special day was here at the beautiful Gallaher Mansion in Norwalk, CT!

We had the privilege of meeting Maxine & Mark on New Year’s Eve of 2014! As we helped Mark coordinate an amazing and romantic proposal to Maxine! Complete with a fancy dinner in Hartford and a stroll down to the water to watch the fireworks. It was so great to spend extra time getting to know them and to be with them from start to finish in their wedding process! Mark and Maxine are just one of those couples that their love for each other is so overwhelmingly evident in everything they do. It makes photographing them and their special day that much more special.

The Gallaher Mansion is a gorgeous location for a wedding! With beautiful architecture and gardens there isn’t a bad spot for a photo. Luckily we found some shelter from the sun in a pretty shaded garden. The first look was so amazing to witness. There is nothing better than seeing the love, splendor, and overwhelming joy of a bride and groom seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. With a lively wedding party of sixteen we had such a blast with all of our family, wedding party, and other posed photos! Then it was time to get married!

Their ceremony was so special. Reverend Matthew Mahan did a spectacular job. It was so great to work with our friends at David Alan Catering. Their mouthwatering food is always so great! They had so many options for cocktail hour which was on the beautiful back patio of the mansion and decorated in beautiful string lights.

Introductions were so funny this crowd really knows how to have a good time! A lovely heartfelt speech from the bride’s sister Candice set the bar high for the two brothers of the groom and best men. They did not disappoint! In the hundreds of weddings we’ve photographed over the years its rare to come across a speech that is just unlike anything we’ve ever seen! Steve and Jeff did it. They had the whole crowd cracking up as they decided to give separate speeches from each separate best man, however, both spoke them in unison! They must have practiced for hours they could not have been more in sync it was crazy!

After a delicious dinner and some group photos (Go UConn!) it was time for dancing! Mark the Shark of Shark Entertainment yet again was amazing with keeping the crowd dancing and loving every song! As per a fraternity tradition the bride and groom were to be lifted up by the guys and thrown up and down, how fun!

It was a great wedding! Congratulations to Mark & Maxine!
