It was a beautiful Friday in March. We were on our way to meet Brooke & Brandon for their downtown Hartford engagement shoot. We met our lovely couple in Bushnell Park to start off the shoot.

There was a soft coating of snow that gave a great wintery feel. The air outside was a little brisk, made a bit warmer by the sun’s glow, and overall it was a great day for engagement photos! The park was not particularly crowded on this winter day. Which was perfect! We had Brooke and Brandon snuggle in close and pulled in city views from all around! Hartford is full of beautiful buildings. Our favorite is the Connecticut State Capital! Its gold dome is stunning and the unique architecture of the rest of the building is gorgeous in photos! As we walked through the park we came across an interesting sculpture and decided to pose them near it for some images as well.

Next we utilized the Soldiers & Sailers Memorial Arch in the background of some photos. This monument is a sweeping Gothic beauty made of brownstone from Portland, CT and dedicated to the city in September of 1886. It was the perfect spot to photograph our lovely couple. The terra cotta coloring was a lovely accent to these images.

As we walked and talked we got to know Brooke and Brandon. They are so happy and so bubbly! We learned that they are the kind of people who can light up a room! They were just so excited, always up for anything, and having so much fun. Their love for each other is so evident and they just cannot wait to get married!

We had so much fun on their engagement shoot! We cannot wait for Brooke and Brandon’s wedding this October at the Delamar Hotel in Black Back Square – West Hartford!
