Horse Stable Engagement Shoot

It was a beautiful and brisk Saturday morning, a perfect day for Emily & Greg’s Horse Stable Engagement Shoot! As we arrived at her family farm we were greeted by her adorable horses all bundled up from the cold, beautiful grounds sprinkled with snow, bright blue skies, and Emily & Greg’s smiling faces! The most ideal components for an amazing engagement shoot!

We had such a great time at all of our bridal shows this winter! We got to meet so many great couples! It is always so exciting to hear how couples met, how they got engaged, and what special plans they have for their wedding! One of these awesome couples was Emily & Greg of course! After only a short time talking to them we knew they were a fun couple and we were so honored when they chose us to photograph their wedding!

Emily & Greg met through mutual friends in October 2016. According to Emily “I said he was cute and the rest is history haha!” They basically started dating from the second they met. This December will be three years officially!

We quickly found out that Emily’s family owns a farm in Middletown! Our first thoughts were that it would be the perfect spot to do their engagement photos! They have had The Stables at Westfield (her family horse farm) for about four years. Her parents bought the property when she was still in college. At that time they owned a farm in Glastonbury but wanted to move closer to her and her sister as they are a very close family! The Stables at Westfield offers horse boarding, riding lessons, and they compete locally. Their farm has twenty seven stalls and thirty four acres of land.

Emily & Greg had chosen the perfect first outfit for their shoot. Their matching red and black plaid was adorable! They cuddled in close to each other to stay warm in the February cold. After some cuddling and kissing poses we were off to find some more perfect scenery! Since it was still early February their unique barn doors were still dressed up for Christmas! The wreaths added an extra special element to the next set of photos. We continued to walk the sprawling acres of the farm and as we did we came across more and more interesting views and great engagement shoot scenery!

What gentle and sweet animals Emily’s horses were! We hung out with Riley and RD as Emily & Greg changed into their next outfits! To finish off the shoot we had to include one of the adorable horses and utilize some of the awesome fences all around the farm! What a fun shoot we had with Emily & Greg! We cannot wait for their wedding at The Society Room this November!
