Ron’s Run For The Roses 2023

Ron’s Run for the Roses is a charity Gala held each Derby Day to raise funds for the Ron Foley Foundation.

The first Ron’s Run for the Roses was held in 2009. This event was a backyard party with 75 guests, in memory of Ron Foley who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in 2005. Inspiration for this event came when those closest to Ron felt they could harness the generosity of his spirit to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research. The day’s contributions were donated to the National Pancreas Foundation in Ron’s memory, and a tradition was born.
In the years since the first gala Ron’s Run has been held at the beautiful Folly Farm in Simsbury. The event has grown to over 450 attendees and raised over $3 million to help fight pancreatic cancer.
The 2023 Ron’s Run For The Roses was held at The Farmington Polo Club for the first year! Excited attendees arrived on May 6th for the 14th Annual Ron’s Run For The Roses. The event featured a variety of auction items available for bid, great food, mint juleps, live viewing of the 149th Kentucky Derby, and wonderful fun on a bright and sunny afternoon! All in support of the Ron Foley Foundation’s mission!

The Ron Foley Foundation’s Mission:

  • Fund medical research leading to earlier diagnosis, more effective treatment and a cure for pancreatic cancer.
  • Promote public awareness of pancreatic cancer through education.
  • Reduce suffering caused by pancreatic cancer by giving direct financial aid to pancreatic cancer patients in need.
