Wickham Park Wedding

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today on the blog we are featuring Brenna & Alexander’s Wickham Park Wedding! It was a beautiful August day as we headed to Wickham Park eager to get started with the celebration!
Brenna & Alexander met while working at the Clark’s shoe store in Manhattan! They had their first date at the Museum of Natural History in NYC. After making the tough choice to leave NYC and move closer to Brenna’s family they settled in Natick, MA together. They bonded over their common interests! They love outdoor activities and have gone on numerous camping trips across New England. Additionally, they love to go thrifting and are fairly avid Nintendo gamers. They both also love spend time with their exotic fur babies – two cockatiels and a chinchilla! How awesome!
As Brian arrived the getting ready festivities were in full swing! Brenna was working on the finishing touches of her makeup as Alexander was getting some help with his wedding look from his mom! After some detail photos and getting ready candids they were all done-up and ready to see each other at their first look! When they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day tears filled their eyes! It was a very touching first look!
Next it was on to the formal photos! First we walked around with just our lovely couple and then it was onto the posed family formals with Brenna’s family! Following that we tucked away our couple as their guests started to arrive for the ceremony! Ceremony was so touching and soon they were MARRIED! We set up for our signature group photo and everyone was ready for the fun of the reception to begin! As guests made their way to cocktail hour we set out to finish the rest of our family formals! After that everyone joined the rest of the guests at cocktail hour! Their really excited and animated group of friends greeted them at the cocktail hour! After some great food, good laughs, and delicious cocktails it was time for their introduction and first dance as husband & wife!
Next up was toasts! No one knew it yet but boy were their speeches a treat! First up was Brenna’s dad! After catching up with Brenna after the wedding her commentary about her dad’s speech really stuck out to us! Here is her response!
I think what tickled us so much about my dad’s speech is that no one (not us, not my mother, nor sisters) knew that he was bringing his harmonica.  In fact, I believe he told us that he was not going to be bringing it.  Alex had been gassing it up with his friends, and kept telling my dad that they really wanted him to play, and he continued to play coy.  So imagine our surprise when he busted it out, and under the influence of a fair amount of Jameson, began playing his wedding themed rendition of Piano Man.  You got a really great photo of the exact moment we realized that the harmonica was making an appearance, and I look defeated, while Alex looks positively thrilled-it’s one of our favorite photos!
A tough act to follow for sure but the rest of the speeches certainly did not disappoint! After the speeches dinner service began followed by parent dances then our man Butch Gray turned the music up and dance floor opened for the night! WOW was this crowd a great group of dancers!
Additionally, after the Wedding when talking with Brenna be also found out that not only was there so much thought put into her Wedding details but there was also so much of her talented crafting!
Like I mentioned, we love to thrift, and I love to craft, so that permeated our wedding planning throughout.  My wedding dress was an eBay purchase and my pearls are my great grandmother’s.  I also made the majority of my florals from sola wood flowers.  I dyed all of them by hand and arranged them myself along with preserved greens I bought, and all of the bouquets, boutonnieres, and hair pieces utilized feathers from our bird, Little Bird.  My dad also made our card box, my older sister made all of our birdseed favors, and my younger sister made us a clay cockatiel couple “cake topper” (but we didn’t do cake, so they lived on our dessert table).  Also can’t forget my mom, who was our unofficial wedding planner and helped us out every step of the way.  It was truly a family affair and everyone was so excited for us and eager to help! And of course, to acknowledge where it all started, we were both wearing Clarks shoes 🙂

What an amazing wedding! Congratulations to the newlyweds! We were so happy to be a part of it!
