Halloween Wedding at Wadsworth Mansion

Happy Halloween Everybody! In honor of today we are throwing it back to Sabrina & Abdel’s Halloween Wedding at Wadsworth Mansion! It was a lovely fall day! The sun was shining but there was a bit of a fall chill in the air. Perfect weather for a Halloween Wedding!

Dominique arrived at the Wadsworth Mansion and started on her detail photos as always, however, with a spooky Halloween twist! While entering she found the Mansion was adorned in cob webs and other Halloween delights! Their wedding details were sprinkled with skulls, black accents, “‘Til death do us part” inscriptions, and all kinds of Halloween fun! Even Sabrina’s Wedding gown was a two piece black lace beauty with a full tulle skirt. She completed the look with a cathedral length black veil! And for the guests, black tie optional – costumes encouraged! Amazing!

We knew we were in for a fun filled day & evening!

Our Bride was on her way over and so Dominique greeted Abdel and captured some lovely portraits of our Groom in the meantime! As soon as Sabrina arrived it was time to get her in her dress! With the help of her son and daughter she was ready in no time! Then it was time to head out to the back of the Mansion for her first look with her groom! As she tapped him on the shoulder they saw each other for the first time their eyes filled with tears! They were so overjoyed to be getting married!

Next it was onto formal portraits! What better place than in front of the hydrangea bushes! However they did not have the normal blooms you are used to seeing. This time fo year had eerie burnt orange past-their-prime blooms to go with the Halloween vibe! After portraits with all the family and friends that had arrived early were complete it was time to get ready for the ceremony!  Sabrina and Abdel took a moment to theirselves to freshen up before ceremony! So Dominique ran around the mansion capturing all the fun Halloween details throughout!

We have photographed many Weddings at the Wadsworth Mansion and the grounds are absolutely lovely! But just when we thought we had photographed a ceremony at all the locations available we saw where Sabrina & Abdel decided to have their ceremony! They decided on a wooded area between the trees at dusk.

The Absolute perfect location for a Halloween Wedding!

Soon the guests were all seated, the music came on, and Sabrina was making her way down the aisle with her son escorting her! Abdel was grinning ear to ear and fighting to hold back tears as his bride made her way toward him! The officiant held an absolutely lovely ceremony. She really took the time to know this couple and learn their love story and she was able to brilliantly retell it for all their guests to hear! It turns out that these two grew up as friends and it was not until later in their life did their relationship turn to that of husband and wife!

I suppose it is true that most love stories start with a beautiful friendship!

Soon the bride & groom were exchanging rings and sealing it with a kiss! As they made their way back down the aisle as husband and wife it was time for our signature post ceremony group shot followed by the remaining posed formal family photos! As guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the Mansion we took our bride & groom to a few key spots around the mansion then it was time for the reception to start!

The guests made their way out to the tent and soon the tent erupted with excitement as our bride & groom entered in for their grand introduction and first dance! As guests settled in for their dinner to be served Sabrina slipped away to change into her reception look! A sleek and shiny black suit, complete with an underneath pop of lace and skull sneakers!  A show stopping ensemble to dance the night away! And that is EXACTLY what they did! Their DJ was a close friend and he knew just what all their guests wanted to hear the dance floor was packed all night long!

What an amazing Halloween Wedding! We were so happy to be a part of this super fun twist on Wedding Day!

Wishing everyone a safe & happy holiday!
