Black & Red Gala 2022

Black & Red ReImagined

Hartford Hospital’s Black & Red ReImagined took place June 5 at the Farmington Polo Club, raising $2 million in support of the Institute of Living.

The gala’s headline entertainment, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw, brought the audience to its feet with a soulful performance of his hits under the Polo Club’s expansive tent.

Guests at the 2022 Black & Red also enjoyed an innovative menu by Max Catering and post-show dancing with music by Correlation Productions.

After a year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the gala’s return showcased the Institute of Living as it marks its 200th anniversary. Gala guests also saluted 25 Hartford Hospital Heroes for going above and beyond the call of duty during the pandemic.

In addition to being one of the region’s premier events, the Black & Red is an opportunity to spotlight critical healthcare issues. With an increasing number of people experiencing stress, trauma, anxiety, and heightened levels of depression in the wake of the opioid crisis, the pandemic, and socioeconomic challenges, the money raised through the Black & Red will support the IOL’s work to strengthen the behavioral health of our communities.
