CT River Valley Chamber Golf Classic

The sun was shining for the 8th Annual CT River Valley Chamber Golf Classic! On Monday, June 5^th everyone gathered at The Glastonbury Hills Country Club! Attendees were all smiles for a day of golf, friendly competition, leisurely networking, and outdoor fun. One hundred twenty players took the field for the sold out outing! Over thirty volunteers assisted at the event, and there were many generous sponsors that contributed to the success of the tournament.  Most importantly, the Chamber uses the funds raised to support scholarship programs in Glastonbury, East Hartford, and Marlborough.

Golf Committee Chairman, Jay Margnelli noted that this outing continues to be a favorite in the area.  “This outing is well organized and very well attended.  Our players support our scholarship programs and enjoy a great day on the links.”

Chamber President Jessica Olander counts this as one of the favorite events the Chamber hosts.  “There is a lot of fun packed into this outing – contests and snacks on the holes, raffles, great food and beverages, networking and of course – golf!” 

The event featured a full day of activities! Activities including the popular putting contest, longest drive, closest to the pin, and Hole in One, which had a grand prize of $10,000 Cash!  Attendees enjoyed a full bbq lunch and buffet dinner, snacks and beverages throughout the course, pizza provided by Square Peg and some sweet treats from Perfect Poundcakes.

The winning team of John Crouse, Michael Vigeant, Brady Lee, and Dan Salter came in at 12 under and received plaques, bragging rights and $100 to the pro shop.  While the 2^nd place team was Geoff Currie, Colin Doody, Foti Anastasiou, and Pat Musson, and came in at 11 under.  Additionally, the third place team of Andrew Fogarty, Rich Piascik, Justin DeLisa, and Jim Ingle were 10 under.

Putting Contest: Men – Michael Sarnese & Women – Kaitlyn Conklin
