Wedding Celebration

It was a perfectly rainy day! Not usually what you hope for on Wedding Day but that did not matter to Alexa & John because nothing could rain on their Wedding Celebration!

These two have quite the story for how they came together! We just love it when our couples’ love just seems to be predestined! That was certainly the case for these two special people! It all started back in 2019 at Alexa’s Sister’s Wedding. Alexa’s Brother-in-law, Robert, grew up with John and John was close friends with his brother. At the wedding her sister, Chelsea’s, new mother-in-law stated how she thought Alexa & John would get along great!

And was she right or what?! Who knew just a few years later it would be time for a Wedding Celebration in their honor!

At the time John was living in Indiana but little did they know that he would be moving to NYC in December of 2020 where Alexa was living! As soon as he did he texted Alexa to go to dinner and they have been together ever since!

Soon Brian arrived at St. Therese Church in North Haven. Despite the weather, everyone was so excited! Alexa & John were having a destination celebration in Portugal, but wanted to have an intimate ceremony in their local church with just their families first!

They were each joined by their parents, Alexa’s sister Chelsea, John’s sister Annie, and their brother-in-laws Robert & Spencer. Soon all were in attendance and the ceremony began! Following ceremony was picture time with all the family and then it was off to John’s Parents house to celebrate! But with a few stops along the way! First it was down by the water for photos of the lovely newlyweds! We were lucky to find a gazebo for overhead coverage while taking some lovely portraits of the newlyweds! Then Alexa suggested walking into the rain for some pictures! We are so happy she did – because these ended up being some of our favorites from the day! Next was a quick stop into Cristy’s Madison in Madison, CT – because when your wife requests a dirty Martini – you get her one!

While enjoying a beverage we got to chatting some more with Alexa & John! We found out the before story of how they met and also all about the details of their celebration in Portugal. Alexa also old us how it was important for her to have her old, new, borrowed, & blue planned out for the big day! Her blue was her shoes, her borrowed was her mother’s earrings, her old was a hanker-chief from her sister’s wedding, and new was her dress!

Then we headed to John’s Parents’ House where everyone was gathering! We had the pleasure of meeting Gibson once we arrived. Who is Alexa & John’s adorable and excited Bernese Mountain Dog puppy! Alexa was also happy to find all their family’s smiling faces, the ingredients for another Dirty Martini, and a quaint meal to celebrate the day!
