Winter Mansion Wedding

We headed to Middletown, Connecticut on a beautiful December day. The sun was shining and it was the perfect day for a Winter Mansion wedding.

First stop was the Middletown Inn! Where our bride and groom we’re getting ready for the big day. Festive holiday decor filled the Inn! We headed up to see our bride! After some candid photos of the girls. As Patricia finished up her hair and make up at the Inn we headed over to The Wadsworth Mansion to get started on our detail photos.

The one and only Megan Bush greeted us as we arrived at the Mansion! We were so excited to get to work with Megan! Dominique got right to work on the detail photos in the Mansion’s BRAND NEW bridal suite upstairs. Brian went to see Evan in the bar who was in the process of putting his finishing touches on his wedding look.

Soon Patricia was pulling in! Brian grabbed some photos of Patricia, arriving and up to the bridal suite she went. Soon it was time to get her into her Wedding Gown!

With help from her Mom soon she was zipped and buttoned into her gown and ready to go see her groom for the first time.

We chose a secluded area in the trees for Patricia and Evan’s First Look.  These two have the sweetest love we just love to see it unfold before our eyes. After a tender embrace they took a private moment to share their handwritten vows.

Next they walked hand-in-hand to the Mansion to get married.

But before they could do, so, it was time for some formal family portraits out in front of the Mansion. This bride and groom chose an intimate Wedding just their closest friends and family. With no Wedding Party our formal Family photos went by pretty quickly and smoothly. Next, it was time to tuck our bride and groom away for guests to take their seats at the ceremony.

Soon the music begin, and Evan took his place at the top of the aisle awaiting his bride. Next, Patricia made her way down the staircase and into the Ballroom. Their ceremony was short and sweet and they sealed the marriage with a kiss.

Next, the guests filed out of the ballroom into the loggia for cocktail hour. Our bride and groom took a moment to themselves upstairs in the bridal suite. Meanwhile, we prepared for portraits of the couple on the balcony upstairs. Dominique took her place out in the lawn to get her angle for the shot and Brian followed the two upstairs to catch an angle from behind.

This might be one of our favorite sets of Bridal Portraits! These two have such a special and gentle love which comes across every time they are together.

Next it was time to introduce the newlyweds and share their first dance together! Downstairs guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, and the bride and groom’s signature cocktails of Pistachio Martini’s and White Russians. As Dominique captured the dining room set up in her detail photos. The children ran around in the lawn soon it was time to move guests into the Ballroom for dinner.

Brian made his way around to the tables to capture couple photos. As Dominique ran outside to test lighting for the couple’s nighttime portraits!

After the outdoor nighttime portraits, we brought our bride and groom to their cake for a private cake cutting. Next we captured group photos of extended families and coworkers. As we finished our last shot, the DJ turn the music up and the dance floor was alive! Everyone dance the night away. And later were treated to cake and a hot chocolate bar to end the evening.

Congratulations to Patricia and Evan and wishing you all the best in this next chapter of life together!
